Q: Is HomeSource Design Center only for clients working with HomeSource Builders?

A: No! Everyone is welcome to purchase their interior finishes from HomeSource Design Center. If you're a builder and need a resource for your clients, are working with an interior designer, or are a DIYer, our 2,500 square-foot showroom is the perfect place to explore extensive displays of products for your home.

Q: Is there a minimum purchase amount when buying from HomeSource Design Center?

A: No, HSDC welcomes projects of all sizes.

Q: What cabinet lines do you carry?

A: We offer a wide range of cabinetry, everything from stock through custom, and can help our clients achieve the look and feel they desire for their kitchens and baths while keeping their budgets in mind. Come in and see all the options for yourself!

Q: What countertop material is more heat resistant?

A: Granite and Quartzite will be the best at heat resistance of any of the top products. (They are rocks, after all.) Quartz is pretty good, but it has warnings about putting hot pots directly onto its surface because of the chance of "melting." Corian can scorch, though it can be repaired, and laminate will burn.

In all cases (except for laminate), if you have a hot enough pot and set it on a seam or fissure, the product can experience thermal shock and "pop," basically breaking the countertop material. Corian is the only material that's repairable.

We've never had this happen to any HomeSource clients, but manufacturers warn that it is possible. So, damage by heat isn't a big problem, just a potential one. We always advise using trivets and cutting boards.

Q: I saw something I liked on TV or in a magazine. Can you help me find it?

A: We can certainly try! We often have clients asking us to research a particular type of tile, cabinet finish, or cabinet insert. Bring in your ideas. We'd love to help make them a reality.

Q: What do most people do in their homes?

A: That answer varies between markets. Many retired Asheville residents are building or remodeling their "forever home." They tend towards safe choices that they will not get tired of as the years go on and make the home easier to sell when the time comes. If that sounds like you, we can show you many local examples. But if it doesn't, we can help you find the selections that match your taste.
